My silver clay journey...
I first discovered silver clay after my dog died and my children and I all wanted a charm with his paw print. I realised I could learn how to do this and after starting, it soon became clear there were so many possibilities with this medium. I then took a beginner's course and went on to do some Diplomas and started teaching. I had just moved house and was lucky enough to have my own studio in an outbuilding which I set up for students. I have since done various masterclasses, been awarded Certificates of Merit in some competitions and had a piece included in the AMCAW 2020 calendar. I have done PMC Certification modules and Camp 101 and love teaching about this amazing medium.
Favourite silver clay technique…
I love making embellishments such as snakes and coils, leaves, flowers and toadstools to add detail to my pieces.
What excites me most about silver clay...
The possibilities are endless, as I say to my students, it is only limited by your imagination. It is a medium that everyone can use at whatever level suits them to make some wonderful jewellery.
